Animation messed up after root motion is enabled

So I imported a character with animations from maximo to ue4, and in order to avoid the character walking away from camera, I enabled force root bone lock and root motion but it keeps messing up my animation and it looks like the hips are not moving. Does it have something to do with the skeleton or animation?i'm not sure but you might put a virtual bone in as 'root' and set it at 000... when you downloaded your animation you had the option to download "In Place" when choosing your anim... check that box and make sure that when you look at it in the dwnld page it says 'in place' in the description...
